Found the perfect logo, but it’s an SVG? Copied an image you need in your edit? Assets in SmoothyApp 1.5 converts SVGs to PNGs and lets you paste images, then send them straight to Premiere Pro.
Two familiar interruptions. One place to handle them.
Downloaded an SVG
The right logo. An extra conversion.
You download a logo or illustration for your edit and find an SVG. Getting it into Premiere usually means opening Illustrator to export a PNG, or searching for a random conversion website.
Drop it into Smoothy’s Assets tab instead. Smoothy converts the SVG to a PNG locally, preserves transparency, and sends it to the timeline when you click Send to Premiere. Start at 1000px wide or choose the size your edit needs.
Copied an image
Copy the image. Keep editing.
You find an image in Google Images and copy it. Pasting that browser image into Premiere doesn’t turn it into a timeline clip. Usually, you have to save it, find the file, and import it first.
Use Copy image in your browser, then press Ctrl+V inside Smoothy’s Assets tab. Preview it and click Send to Premiere. You can also use Ctrl+C to copy from apps that support image copying; on Mac, use Cmd+C and Cmd+V.
Copy imagePaste in SmoothySend to Premiere
From design file to finished edit.
A small local workspace for the graphics you already have.
SVG to transparent PNG
Render logos, icons and illustrations at the width you choose. Keep transparency or pick a white, black or custom background.
Copy, paste, keep editing
Copy an image from your browser or another app. Press Ctrl+V in Assets (Cmd+V on Mac), check the preview, then send it to Premiere.
A list for all your assets
Switch between loaded files, check previews and export them all as PNGs. Individual file errors stay visible so you can see what needs attention.
Size it for your edit
SVGs start at 1000px wide, with proportional height. Set another width when needed. Images keep their own dimensions, with an 8192px limit on either side.
Save where it belongs
Use your remembered output folder for exports. Save As lets you choose a location for the selected asset.
Send it to Premiere
Import the selected PNG and place it at the playhead on the topmost video track. Choose a still duration from 1 to 30 seconds.
Import an SVG in three steps.
Smoothy handles the conversion. You choose where it goes.
01
Bring in your graphic
Open Assets in SmoothyApp. Drop an SVG or image, browse for files, or paste with Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac).
02
Make it timeline-ready
Preview the image, set its width and choose the background. SVGs are rendered into PNGs at the output size.
03
Send or save
Connect Premiere and click Send to Premiere for the selected image. Or export your loaded assets as PNGs to use anywhere.
Premiere receives a PNG still image. Render it at the size your sequence needs, and keep the source SVG for future edits.
Use the Assets tab in SmoothyApp 1.5. Load your SVG, choose a width and background, then click Send to Premiere. Smoothy renders a PNG, saves it to your output folder and imports that PNG into the active sequence.
Can I copy an image from Google Images and use it in Premiere?+
Yes. Use your browser's Copy image command, open Assets in SmoothyApp and press Ctrl+V on Windows or Cmd+V on Mac. You can also click Paste from Clipboard. Preview the image, then click Send to Premiere to save it as a PNG and place it at the playhead in your active sequence.
Will the SVG stay an editable vector in Premiere?+
The imported asset is a PNG still image. Choose a width that fits your sequence before sending it. Keep your source SVG for future changes or larger exports.
Can I keep the background transparent?+
Yes. Transparent is the default output background. SVGs and images that already have transparency retain it in the exported PNG. You can also choose white, black or a custom color. This does not remove an existing background from a photo.
Does Assets need an account or Studio credits?+
No. Image conversion, resizing, PNG export and Premiere import are local tools. They do not need an account or Studio credits.
Can I export multiple images at once?+
Yes. Export PNG processes all loaded images and reports individual failures. Save As and Send to Premiere operate on the selected image.
Can I use Assets without Premiere Pro?+
Yes. Convert and export PNGs locally without an editor connection. Send to Premiere needs the desktop app connected to Premiere Pro through the bundled SmoothyEdit panel.
One less trip between apps.
